Joanne has also recently started editing publications on the economies of East Asia and Southeast Asia for this think tank cofounded by the Association of Southeast Asian Nations. Asian Development Bank (ADB)
Joanne edits and copy edits reports, brochures, scholarly articles, and books on economic, social, and political development in Asia. Much of this work involves material written by nonnative English speakers. Two noteworthy projects included editing half of the book, Dealing with Multiple Currencies in Transitional Economies, published by ADB in 2009; and copy editing the book, Strengthening the Ombudsman Institution in Asia, published by ADB in 2011. This is a highly regarded website devoted to the tech start-up scene in New Jersey, an up-and-coming region in this field. Joanne copy edits articles by journalists, academics, and entrepreneurs on industry trends and groundbreaking tech and tech-enabled companies. (September 2014 – present)
Joanne edited a couple of reports for the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) on the agency's efforts to fight the spread of tuberculosis in Central Asia. She was contracted by Project HOPE, an international healthcare organization that was a partner in these efforts. (November – December 2017; April 2019)

- Edited the letters to the editor for a couple of years.
- Wrote short pieces for Black Book, the main front-of-the-book section.
- Wrote in-house fact-checking guide and trained freelance fact checkers.
Publications Assistant — French Government Tourist Office (in New York)
June 1997 – February 2000. While there, Joanne:
- Wrote and fact checked issues of France Insider’s News, a quarterly newsletter for the American consumer market covering French destinations, history, and culture.
- Fact checked and proofed articles for the yearly magazine, France Discovery Guide; also edited the “Informed Traveler” and “Calendar and Events” sections of the magazine. The France Discovery Guide focused on the regions of France and French culture.
- Copy edited and proofed advertisements and inserts.
Graduate Assistan — Department of Development, New York University
September 1992 – May 1993. While there, Joanne:
- Wrote and edited articles for the fund-raising newsletter, Campaign Update.
- Wrote grant proposals for various departments and programs throughout the university.
